Privacy Notice

Last updated: 15 June 2026 · Thamadh

Thamadh ("we", "us") operates memr at memr.in. This notice explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. Data we collect

  • Account data — if you sign in: identifier, display name, and authentication tokens required to operate your account.
  • Usage data — search queries, clip views, favorites, and interactions needed to provide the service.
  • Analytics data (optional) — with your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used (clicks, scrolls, session replays with masking). See our Cookie Policy.
  • Contact form data — information you submit via Join Us, Improve Us, or Contact pages.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and device information in server logs for security and reliability.

2. Purposes and lawful basis

  • Provide the service — search, playback, sharing, and account features (contract / legitimate use for essential processing).
  • Security and abuse prevention — protecting our infrastructure and users.
  • Product analytics — only after you opt in to analytics cookies (consent).
  • Respond to inquiries — when you contact us voluntarily.

3. Processors and international transfers

We use service providers including Microsoft Clarity (analytics, when consented), Cloudflare (storage/CDN), and cloud hosting. Clarity data is processed by Microsoft and may be stored in Microsoft data centers, including in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.

4. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Analytics consent records are retained to demonstrate compliance. You may request deletion of account-related data by contacting us.

5. Your rights (DPDP and similar laws)

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Withdraw consent for analytics at any time via Cookie settings
  • Request erasure where applicable
  • Nominate another person to exercise rights on your behalf in defined circumstances
  • Lodge a grievance with us (see below)

6. Grievance and contact

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at help@memr.in. For grievances under the DPDP Act, write to help@memr.in with "Privacy grievance" in the subject. We will respond within timelines prescribed by applicable law.

7. Children

memr is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.

8. Changes

We may update this notice. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after notice of changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law; analytics processing always requires your current consent.
